Mary's 40's Quilt

This quilt reminded me of the beautiful chintz fabrics used in the 1940's... With her gift for color, Mary has put together another unique quilt top. I love quilting her tops, because I get to see all the creative things Mary does with fabric.

Maritza's French Rose

On the frame, this was beautiful in the morning.
Freehand quilted with leafy vines and cabbage roses
to match the top.

Mary's Baby Quilt

Here's another top with Kaffee Fasset fabrics
made by my friend Mary. Quilted with little
free hand daisies.

Ginger's Christmas Quilt

This quilt top was made by my oldest daughter, Ginger.
She let me do whatever I wanted. I love that!

St. George Sunset

Donna made this quilt to echo the colors of the beautiful sunsets in St. George, Utah. She succeeded beautifully. The pattern is Delectable Mountains, of course...
The quilting pantograph is Whirligig by Jodi Beamish.

The Daisy Quilt

Freehand quilting for a very bright quilt.
Line dancing in the bias square borders and outlines for the daisy petals. Tight swirls in the white fabric make the daisies pop.
This was a quilt shop sample.

Baby David's Quilt

A quilt for my new adorable grandson.
Freehand quilting using Suzanne Earley's Shooting Stars pattern.

Bethany's Gift

This was a very kingsized quilt Bethany pieced a few years ago for her Mother. She brought it to me and it was quilted in no time. I used the Rhapsody pantograph by Jodi Beamish.

Mary's Apple Quilt

Mary made this quilt for her Aunt. She just happened to see this apple fabric on the sale table after someone at the quilt shop told her they had nothing like it. The materials used are wonderful.... Mary has a real gift using color and fabric.

Churn Dash Quilt

The backing shows the pattern more clearly.

Barbara's scrappy Churn Dash quilt uses all sorts of great fabrics. Because the top has so much going on already, I used a simple quilting pantograph ~ Popcorn by Jodi Beamish.

You Did What to That Fabric???

Quilters are generally perfectly normal women (sometimes men) who buy beautiful fabrics and then proceed to cut them into small pieces. Spouses do not always see the value in this.
These pieces of fabric are then meticulously sewn back together in a pattern to form a 'quilt top'. The owner of the quilt top then contacts me and together we decide what type of quilting pattern will be quilted or sewn, onto the top. I put the quilt sandwich, which consists of the quilt top, a soft batting middle and the quilt backing, onto the longarm frame. I then quilt the design which may be either subtle or sometimes not so subtle.
My particular longarm is 12' wide; many are 14' wide, but my little quilting room is small and will only accomodate the smaller size. My monster looks better with a quilt in her frame.

There's a Monster in My Room!!

.... and it's called a longarm quilting machine.
